Lesson 1 Tough Sayings Of Jesus

I. What do you think? Look over the following statements. What ones do you think Jesus said, and which ones do you think he didn’t say?

A. Let the dead bury their own dead.

B. Anyone who says, “You are a fool.” will be in danger of the fore of hell.

C. Accept me as your personal Lord and Savior and you shall inherit eternal life.

D. If anyone would come after me, he mist deny himself, take up his cross and follow me.

E. Do not give dogs what is sacred; do no throw your pearls to pigs.

F. Be shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.

G. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

H. If you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.

J. The Lord helps those who help themselves.

K. They do not practice hat they preach.

L. Ask me for anything in my nave and I will do it.

M. You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.

N. Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.

O. Follow me and I will prosper you.

P. You cannot serve both God and money.

Q. Anyone who calls me “Lord, Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven.

R. I have come to bring fire on earth, and how I wish it were already kindled.

S. Depart from me, you who are cursed into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

T. If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out.

U. Whoever divorces his wife and marries another, comets adultery against her.

V. If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother… he cannot be my disciple.

W. Be perfect.
